Justification.
I know I'm never never never gonna leave you babe; But I go to get away from this place.
When Changmin turns sixteen, everything changes.
JaeJoong doesn’t come home anymore, their parents worry - grandma says something like ‘it’s that goddamned rock and roll music he listens to, he got into that crowd with all those damned hip-pantser-no-good-punk-kids smoking in bathrooms at school.’ And for the longest time Changmin believes her, and after a while he begins skipping classes to peek nervously into the bathrooms to check. But JaeJoong’s never there.
He thinks for a little while that he left to be with his friend in Seoul - a pianist with cigarette bones and a bad haircut - but one day JaeJoong shows up at the house, sliding in through the back door and sneakily packing his clothes. Changmin creeps around, too, checks on him, because, well, he looks all right, not at all like a no good hipster. And when JaeJoong pecks his sleeping mother on the cheek and stares momentarily at his father, eyes dark and frightful even though the much older man is sleeping, Changmin knows his actions are justified.
