To answer the first question....I close my eyes and turn my head for the same reasons you do...hehe..:) For the second question...YES!!!!! they go hand and hand. together forever and always.
1) Usually, I am in the moment in a way that precludes any kind of "extra-ciricular" fantasy. If I turn my head and close my eyes, it is probably to focus my thoughts so as to take me OUT of the moment.... I might start doing multiplication tables, or thinking about work tasks. This is necessary, when being "in the moment" means that "the moment" is about to end, and way too soon :)
Jealousy and insecurity:
In my own personal definition set, I separate the idea of "Envy" from "Jealousy". Envy is wanting something someone else has. Jealousy is when you feel someone else is usurping your rightful place, or access, to something.
e.g. Seeing a guy with the girl I want... that's Envy. Seeing a guy with a girl who I think SHOULD BE WITH ME is jealousy.
So, jealousy is more complex, and it is tied to ideas of what we think is due to us... so insecurity plays a part in jealousy that it doesn't in envy.
I miss you something crazy. What are you doing this Saturday from 12-2pm? Maryann has a ceramics workshop and I'm taking it. Jack-o-lanterns :) Come come come come come!
i have major insecurity and feel jealous over the silliest things. I want a cure.
No--i think jealousy has more to do with greed. Insecurity is an emotional hangnail; you have to learn not to be that--jealousy is more of a lack. Like jealous people lack something in their soul and KNOW it. I don't always close my eyes--they make such interesting faces! i don't EVER think of other scenarios--i heard about that years ago and still think it's cheating--if you aren't there for that person--you are cheating them.
perhaps all along what I thought of as jealousy was more extreme insecurity and feelings of low(er) self worth than whoever else is in the scenerio.
for example: a girl that my boyfriend used to be in love with (but didn't give him the time of day) has now come around and has been eagerly pursuing him despite the knowledge of MOI being in the picture. It makes me _________ (fill in the blank) because she's beautiful, TWENTY ONE and has a perfect body. Now, I know nothing of her personality, humor and other cutsie quirks or annoyances, but if given a choice between me and this chic based on looks alone, I think everyone would choose her.
i see what you mean and hate it. i hate the idea that a figure or texture is more important than the person contained within. shiny things break--and girls who are only interested in other girls' boys are one of the more heinous and repugnant peoples; TO ME. pretty isn't on the outside; that's just a casing--to know that you--who are really truly actually sweet and kind and good; to know that you hold insecurities because of form--i hate that. if it were a deck and each quality were a card you'd have so many; where the pretty vacant 21 year olds would have maybe three. may your boy see this for what it actually is & may you see all the multi-dimentional beauty you hold. *hugs*
