Not much going on. Reading Sappho last week at acaciah inspired me to write a bit of my own poetry. And it's been a few months since I've composed poetry. So here goes:

Dear Aphrodite

I’ll sing hosannas to you name

Worship at your shrine

Pour out libations to please your divine self.

Be so kind as to offer him to me

Do not let me burn longer with

I always loved Sappho. There is a pssion and a sweetness to her that denies all.

And you're *pretty!*

Most importantly, there are some really brillant images here. I think you might have captured some of the feel of Sappho's work without in anywise replicating it....the images of painting are almost tangible. Really neat!
