And now begins the season of birthday parties. Is it just me or does it seem that so many kids are born late August through the end of September? Josie and Josh’s birthdays are Today and Sept. 10. Not to mention they each have been invited to several birthday parties for their school friends. It’s birthday crazy. I have no idea what to do about ( Read more... )

Birthday party season started in our neighborhood today. It really does add up. I go to Wawa and get the gift certificates for Toy 'r Us on the way. Saves me a ton of time.

For a girly princess party, just change all the standard games to girlie things. Like a scavenger hunt for all the parts of Bell's outfit. Make a princess mask with crown (paper plate masks). Pin the shoe on Cinderella. Match the frog with the prince etc. For boys do same but make everything Spiderman.

Don't forget, little girls can give themselves make-overs. Take lots of pics.

I like the idea for "Pin the shoe on Cinderella." I'll have to see if I can find someone who can draw a Cinderella for me. I was planning on letting them do make-overs, I even have one of those little hair-wrappers that puts the ribbons and beads in hair. I was going to let them do that. I was never much of a girly-girl, and never cared much for slumber parties when I was little--so I guess I fell stumped when it comes to these things.
For Josh I think we are going to have his party at a bowling alley since he loves to bowl and so does his friends from school.

When we did slumber parties, we always did "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board". Scared ourselves silly.

I could never get "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board" to work when I and my friends tried that as kids.

You know, it was cool to see you and the kids, but I think I saw just enough of you to piss me off. We need to do a coffeehouse, SOON.
