I’m worried about the situation in the apartment directly overhead of ours. These people moved in about 6 months ago and they have been very noisy. At first I didn’t pay much attention to it because it was random and not very often, but the noise level has increased in the last 8 weeks and I am now certain that what I thought was just horsing

yikes, that doesn't sound good. I would reccomend that you keep an ear open and if it happens again, call the cops. We never had the cops called on us, but I almost wished that they had. Instead we had social services called in, (long story). Or maybe next time they start making noise call the office and tell them that if they don't do something you'll call the cops.

I think tomorrow I will go down to the leasing office and let them know that now it's more than just noise and that I do not feel safe. If they do nothing I may talk to a consumer lawyer.

That's so hard, to know what to do. Especially since you don't have any support to help you...

Maybe the cops would be good? I mean...can you do it anonymously?

I think the next time I will call the cops and ask the cops to say that they had several complaints about the noise level--hopefully that will sound like it's not one person singling them out.
