Russian Bots

I'm now getting Russian Spam in my gmail account. You think this has something to do with the Russian bots that leach their way onto our LJ accounts? How the hell do we stop that from happening? HRMPH...that sucks.

I just ignore them myself. I know plenty who report them as spam though and there a few theories about their nefarious intentions floating around.

If in fact they are bleeding into my personal email from LJ...well, that makes me not happy at all. How would they get that information? It's not on my profile page and my contact page is friend's locked. HRMPH!

I doubt there is any connection, unless they're doing some creative email address harvesting from LJ profiles.

Although in the end, is Russian spam any worse than any other kind?

True...I just haven't had it before and was worried my LJ was not as secure as I'd like to daydream it is. *g*
