One of the advantages to working for a religious organization is that they will give you two paid holidays for Easter - one for Good Friday & one on Holy Monday. As I am an agnostic, these lovely days generally are not filled up with church and prayers and thinking about the torture and pain of Jesus (which is what I thought about at Eastertime ( Read more... )

I'm sorry to hear that stomach nastiness ruined your long weekend. The Chinatown bus can be rough under the best circumstances, I can't imagine being on it when I'm already feeling nauceous.

That's great that you're moving to NYC!! Congratulations on finding a cool apartment.

Thanks ! I was pretty scared about having to live in a closet size claustrophobic migraine inducing place as the boyfriend has harbored dreams of the Lower East Side since he was a wee one. But Williamsburg seems to be a good compromise for us.

Maybe you can tell me about your favorite stitch & bitch group cause i need some activities for the summer yo!@

Williamsburg is actually really close to me in Long Island City - well, close via the bus or G train. If you go through Manhattan it's like an hour away.

So far, my favorite stitch & bitch has been the one in my neighborhood. The people are nice, not snobby at all, and the coffee shop has yummy tea and nutella sandwiches. The one in Astoria is supposed to be good too but I've never been. There's a monthly stitch and bitch meet up in Manhattan and I went once for like 5 minutes and left because it was too crowded.

The summer is the best time in NYC, in my opinion. Yeah, it's hot and smelly, but because of this there aren't many tourists and all the rich city folk go to the Hamptons or Jersey shore.

That's good to know about the train because I plan on going to Queens College - I didn't really want to live in Manhattan from the start, but Forbes did. He kept telling me that my commute to school would be two hours if we lived in Brooklyn. Now I'm trying to figure out if there is a decent, direct way from Williamsburg to Queens - particularly Kew Gardens.

I am so damn antsy for the summer to arrive!

I am heartened by the knowledge that someone else knows about sleepy-seeds.

Sleepy seeds bring me my dreams! Or maybe they are the remnants of our dreams of the night past.
