Unspoken
A/N: Because it was a rainy day today. :)
“I’ll be going now. Don’t you want to send me off?” Siwon asked the person in his bed, totally covered from head to toe with a thick blanket. Although it was supposed to be spring, the morning weather was humid; snow was still visible outside; and the sky was gray as if it would snow again later that day.
Kyuhyun, who slept last night at Siwon’s apartment, wouldn’t move from Siwon’s bed and hid his self under the blankets. Siwon tried to wake his lover up three hours earlier but all he got were whimpers and grunts, the maknae saying it was ‘too cold’ and they should stay in bed longer. Siwon would love to agree with the maknae however he has to go to China that day for a short filming stint. Now he’s about to leave for the airport but the maknae still wouldn’t get up.
Thinking that the maknae was too tired and needs more sleep, Siwon decided to write a note and just leave it at the bedside table. After he was done writing, he sat beside the blanket-covered maknae and shook him gently.
“Kyu, babe.. breakfast is at the kitchen. I left a note here for you; read it later. I’m going to the airport now. I’ll call you when I reach China, alright?” He leaned closer and patted the maknae’s head - or what looked like the head since Kyuhyun was buried inside the blanket. Siwon was about to get up when Kyuhyun tossed the blanket away from his face.
“Hyungg~” The maknae whimpered. Siwon smiled bitterly as he saw Kyuhyun. His heart felt heavy with the thought of having to leave his lover again.
Kyuhyun didn’t know what to say. He’s seen Siwon leave him for work many times before, he should be used to it by now - he should be.
“Don’t worry. You can stay here while I’m gone. I’ll call you every day or message you.. I’ll be back soon.” Siwon patted Kyuhyun’s cheek. “Go back to sleep, Kyu.” He stood up and kissed the maknae’s forehead.
“Siwon!” Kyuhyun cried out and held onto Siwon’s arms. Siwon waited for what Kyuhyun would say next. Instead, he only met the maknae’s eyes. They stared at him knowingly, begging him to stay with him longer.
“S-stay..” Kyuhyun uttered. “stay with me.. for a while longer.. please?”
Siwon looked at his watch and broke into a smile. “Hmm.. I guess manager won’t mind waiting for a few minutes more.” Kyuhyun beamed and rolled to the other side of the bed, making space for Siwon. Once Siwon was seated beside him, he nestled his head on Siwon’s lap while Siwon ran his fingers through the maknae’s hair.
“It’s a pity we can’t have sex for 10 minutes..” Siwon mocked the maknae. “..or could we? Should we try?”
Kyuhyun reached out for Siwon’s face and squished it with his two hands. “Hyung you’re ruining the moment!!” He snapped.
“Buhd thish ish alsho a moment” Siwon replied as the maknae squashed his face more.
“You only have sex on your mind!”
Siwon pulled Kyuhyun’s hands away from his face and leaned down to kiss the maknae. “That’s true.. but my mind mostly has you. And then sex with you, of course.”
Kyuhyun’s face blushed as Siwon’s stare pierced through him. He struggled free from Siwon’s grasp and covered his face with a pillow. “Aaahh! Hyung!! How could you be so corny and perverted at the same time?! What have I done in my past life to deserve this!!”
Siwon laughed and pulled the pillow from Kyuhyun. “Alright I won’t embarrass you anymore. But it’s tru-”
Kyuhyun sat up and covered the man’s mouth with his hand. “I know! I know! Don’t say it again!” He started laughing as Siwon slipped a hand under the blanket and started tickling the maknae’s side. “Stop t-that!” He snorted as he tried to pull Siwon’s hands away from him. But as soon as Kyuhyun’s hands found Siwon’s, the older man overpowered him and pinned the maknae on their bed, their faces inches away from each other.
“I miss you already..” Kyuhyun felt Siwon’s warm breath on his skin as he stared at Siwon’s eyes. He wanted to say things that would make his lover stay; things that would comfort the both of them.
“I.. I wan-” Kyuhyun started but was interrupted by the loud ring of Siwon’s phone.
Siwon knew it was his phone ringing, the manager probably calling, but he opted to stay where he was - on top of Kyuhyun.
“A-Aren’t you going to answer that?”
“It’s just the manager. He’s probably waited too long now..”
Few seconds more, they stayed still; listening to the phone’s ignored rings.
“I.. I should go now..” Siwon started to move.
“Kiss me!” Kyuhyun suddenly uttered. “K-kiss me.. Siwon hyung.”
“W-what?” The confused Siwon asked.
Sensing the sudden awkwardness brought about by his demand, Kyuhyun grabbed Siwon’s shirt and pulled him in for a kiss. Siwon was surprised but nevertheless, he closed his eyes as the maknae did and kissed back, following the maknae’s lead.
“Don’t get into trouble, Siwon..” Kyuhyun softly spoke without opening his eyes, without breaking contact.
Siwon nodded and understood what the maknae wanted to say. He got up and started for the door while Kyuhyun watched him do so.
“Hurry up and come back or else I’ll cry and tell you to leader hyung!!”
The older man looked back to see the maknae beaming at him. “Call you later, Kyu.”
Then Siwon left. The room they always shared now felt eerily quiet and Kyuhyun didn’t like it one bit. Especially now that he just realized the words he wanted to say earlier. Now he felt stupid as those words ran through his mind; unsaid, unheard.
His phone beeped.
‘Kyu.. look out the window..’ The text message from Siwon said. Kyuhyun quickly got up and flung the curtains open. There below at the parking lot was a man waving up at him. He waved back. His phone rang.
‘Kyu!’ Siwon’s voice sounded hurried. ‘I’ll be back soon. Promise. Please don’t cry while I’m away.’
Kyuhyun was once again speechless. He just nodded, hoping that Siwon would notice. Siwon held up his arms and formed a heart above his head and yelled the maknae’s name on the phone. ‘Cho Kyuhyun!’ Then he formed the heart again. Kyuhyun laughed and imitated Siwon’s heart above his head as he yelled Siwon’s name over the phone.
The manager who was watching the whole thing cringed at the cheesiness that was them. He went up to Siwon and hit him on the arm; telling him to hurry up since he’s already late.
‘I’ll call you when I get there! Bring your phone with you always!’ Siwon said and hung up. Kyuhyun waved from the window and Siwon did the same. He watched as Siwon’s car left. This time his heart felt lighter. He will miss Siwon for sure, but instead of feeling sad and lonely he felt contrary. He was rather excited to see his lover come home, to be hugged and kissed by him again; most of all he was excited to tell Siwon the words he has failed to speak today.
