Friday was a fabulous day. I met up with my fellow music teachers and attended an open rehearsal with the Seattle Symphony along with an afternoon spent with the composer in residence of the symphony. The flute is my second-weakest instrument (tuba is my weakest) and I tell my band kids that if things go right, they'll be much better than I am by the second week of their second year of band lessons.
Usually, it's at the end of the first sememster of their first.
It doesn't help that I play a cheap-assed flute, but I don't have the mouth for the instrument. My lips are too thin.
