Being hip is just as much about wearing cute fancy hats, leggings, etc as it is about wearing understated headbands.
You're just as hip; they're probably in awe of you.
Because you know, all us hipsters/scenesters/indie kids are always looking at what the next one is wearing and wishes we were wearing that.

i agree with josh, sugar plum honey bun! especially the part about looking at what the next is wearing. that's why hipsters get all that grief!

and you're right- it doesn't get cooler than living with a rock star!
