Stand By Me fanfiction

Jan 21, 2007 22:20

Title: In A Savage Land
Universe: "Stand By Me"/"The Body"
Disclaimer: It all belongs to the genius of Stephen King.
Rating: PG-13 for language and some violence, to be on the safe side, but nothing too graphic
Author’s Note: This turned out to be closer to the novella “The Body”, but still understandable if you only know the movie “Stand By Me”. ( Read more... )

Thank you. *blushes* I was really worried about the flow of the story as I had to tweak and change so much in order to make it fit better into the canon.

So, do you think it should go with a slash warning? To be on the safe side?

hehe.

um. i'm not really sure. actually: no. i don't think so. you haven't directly mentioned anything, it's more inferential really. so no. but that's just me. if you want to be safe then yes. but if it were me then no. the reader can choose really, you don't force them into any line of thinking. haha. does this make any sense?

So, if people flame me because they think I should have given a slash warning, I can always say "But that in the end, that was just a brotherly hug. It's not my fault you have such a dirty mind."? ;-)

Both parts of the story were great. Good job! You've totally made me smile.

I love this story, I'm so glad you wrote a chapter 2. I really hope you'll think about a Part 3 because this is definetly the best Chris/Gordie story out there, partly because it's like the slash is building up very subtly, and it's so obvious how much they care about each other, and I'd love to read more. Very very good job.

Thank you very much! It means a lot to me that people take the time to comment. :-) And I'm blushing bright red at the compliment.

I have a feeling that this will not be the last SBM fanfiction I'll ever write but I'm not sure about continuing this series. Whatever comes after this part is bound to turn very sad in the end. And I must admit that at the moment, I cannot imagine writing more "explicit" slash scenes with the two of them. I love reading it but writing it is a completely different matter. ;)

Oh, you have no idea how happy this has just made me! I actually read it twice in a row, it is that wonderful. Not only is it refreshing to know that there are other Chris/Gordie fans out there, but that there are talented Chris/Gordie fans too. I read Of Sinking or Swimming back during the summer, and I think it's the best SbM fiction I have ever read. You have so much talent and such a perfect grasp on the characters' personalities. The way you write, it perfectly matches The Body's style. (And it's good to know that more people have read the actual story as well as seen the movie) Plus, your stories are so subtle and light; I love the fact that neither of them have ever said 'I love you' to the other, but it's known that the love and affections are there. That works with Gordie's lines in the book about how 'the most important things are the hardest things to say because words destroy them.' You are the only writer I've seen who has captured their relationship the way it was meant to be (or at least the way I always saw it should ( ... )
