Saturday August 27, 2005Well, my sister and I have been looking for a house since late July and had been rather discouraged. We looked at nearly 30-40 houses and still didn’t find anything within our price range that also met our needs. Reisterstown, were we grew up had slightly cheaper houses, but was also a much ( Read more... )

Yep, housing prices are inflated everywhere. We'll probably be able to sell our house for *almost* double the mortgage we have on it. I think you made a good choice to buy it now, especially since it was priced lower to sell quickly. If you'd waited, someone else would have outbid you with the reasoning that even if they paid $5-15K more, it would still be comparable to the area ( ... )

Thanks for the support and advice. It definitely made me feel a lot better. *Hugs* =o) It helped remind me again too that house prices are just going to keep going up if I'd waited. Maybe not as much as before, since it's reaching a plateau phase now, but still up. And you're also right about interest rates being low right now. My sister and I found a mortgage for 5.75% through the lender our ex-French teacher recommended, but I want to check if we can go any lower through our own bank just in case.

I'd written a really brief entry yesterday just saying that I got the job and won the bid on the house and didn't want to grow up. =oP This entry and the previous one about my job were the detailed versions of that.

Congrats on the house! :D I read the whole two long entries that you wrote about your Journeys. That is so awesome! I really, really, want to get my Reiki II certification, but the lady who teaches it here needs to have two people signed up in order to teach the class, and it costs $125 dollars that I don't have. I haven't been getting enough practice as I would like to either. It's hard to find people to work on. A lot of people already think I'm nuts... :P

Luckily I have a lot of friends who are Reiki masters, so I can get it done for free when I'm ready. The thing is, there really is no rush. I've been Reiki I attuned three times already, the first being over 2 years ago, and I still don't feel ready to move onto Reiki II. Hopefully once I'm done with my clinical rotation of chakra balancing, I can begin focusing on Reiki a bit more again, though ( ... )
