...and we're 3 kids in a 2 bedroom house. The inspection sounded like it really went well. And with things like the windows, you can just budget to replace one or two old windows every year, instead of all at once; that way if something else homeowner-ish comes up during the year you still have some fix-it dollars in the bank + you can get more expensive windows with extra super duper energy ratings, like Pella ;) If they leak cold air during the winter, you can use the heat-seal clear window plastic; or if you want to be able to open the window for fresh air on occasion, you could make or buy some window quilts. My mom made a giant insulated window covering for her old patio door, with the insulative fabrics, and a plain muslin front, and painted a landscape on it with fabric paints.

Rule of thumb for smoke alarms- one on every level of your house, making sure there's one in the hallway outside bedrooms. Spend the extra to get the kind that detect smoke, heat & Carbon Monoxide.

im working on taking care of a calcium deficiency, and I am currently having to deal with having dilated pupils. I went to see the eye doctor today....gah, it makes my head hurt....
