Ban The Brick

I called to have our couch delivered a couple of days early and was told that they oversold, and despite the "guarantee" to have it delivered the first week of November, we'd likely get it in December...but maybe January...maybe, no way to tell. From my experience (maybe I just worked at the shittiest furniture store in the city...no wait, I'm pretty sure I did) unless it's IKEA and they have it sitting in an Ottawa warehouse, i think most furniture stores have this problem. Dominika had it with The Bay too.

Apparently it's mainly if they get them from manufacturers overseas (ie China). I went to Colonial today and they showed me a bunch of couches that could be delivered in 4 weeks.

not to be negative but, didn't the brick make the same promises? manufacturers from the US can get held up at customs for months too. The Action Line in the Citizen was always full of mixed up orders, deliveries etc with furniture companies. I would recommend if you need it by a certain time, make sure it's been made, shipped and is in the local warehouse.
