An 88! That's the year I graduated from high school.

Oh, hell. I just realized that I'm almost 20 years out of high school. :(

Hey, you can't be old. You're only a year ahead of me. We are young! Young, I say! :)

Hardly ancient! You're two years younger than Mike. :-P

And congrats on getting the car back!! I can't imagine how wonderful total mobility must feel again.

Roni's got wheels again----watch out!!!
I love to read you dancing.
I didn't get my license until I was um...I think 30.
I was driving around illegally for a couple of years prior to that, but when Jessi went to kindergarten and I became a carpool Mama, I figured I had better legalize the pact with the DMV or they'd cart my younguns to social work if I was found out. Sigh...
I loved the Outlaw thing while it lasted.

i think i've been there more than long enough for one life time. my juvenile record which is composed of less than 3 years of my live is more than 6 inches thick.

they don't teach you how to drive in group homes. atleast here we have public transportation--not the best in the world, but i knew how to get where i needed and when. when nollie was born we were in winchester, which has no public transportation . it was bad enough for me not to get around before he was born, but i couldn't bare the thought of him needing to get to a doctor and not doing my job as mommy and getting him there. (plus i absolutely hate asking other people to help me do the basic stuff like that)

Waaallllll, I was carpooling with two friends of mine who had driven with me countless times. And since the car was in my name even if I had no drivers license, the insurance was for both Misha and I.

I really am a good driver and always have been. Never pulled over. I look very much like a midwife and cops just overlook me. Except when I'm wearing something tight and revealing. Then they wanna chat it up!!!!

your insurance laws are different than ours then. if one doesn't have a license then the insurance won't cover it, no matter whose name the car is under. other than being pulled over at 18, the only time i've ever been pulled over are for the obvious things that the cop sitting behind me in traffic notices such as expired tags. i've never had an actual driving ticket since i got my license.

i bet ;)

yeah, i know i'm silly to be so emotionally attatched to a vehicle of all things. but she is mine and i don't owe a dime on her. thank you, it really did work out nicely even if we are broke again lol. :)

I know what you mean. The van I was talking about having break down on me? We bought it new, is a 93... we bought it new when dad got out of college and we moved. Was so nice having a new car, and the van had sooo much room to spread out and relax, so great for trips.

*sigh*

Was bringing it home, had bought the new car... and I was feeling really nostalgic. Gonna miss that car ;(

I'm sure I'll get to the same point with the new car I got at some point, but... damn :P

sorry to hear about the breakdown. :( but congrats on the new car and if you think about it....you are starting to get settled in a grown up job, you are getting married, lots of really good and big things happening. maybe this is like a 'material' sign of all of those things combined :)

we are going to need a second car so that mark can get around easily same as i. i'm so scared of car payments though. i'll just be starting out with my career next fall and mark will be going back to school. scarey shit to have to many outgoing bills. i think we will just save up to pay cash for whatever we can get. as our finances improve then we'll save for a better vehicle buy saving a 'monthly car payment' until we have the money for something better. i really love dave ramsey lol.
