While I think reiki is a valid healing method (I became a Reiki Master at 17....man am I old!!!), i have to agree with you that it doesn't really belong in that class. I can see where you are feeling violated.

it would be different had reiki been one of the modalities that we had actually discussed from a learning perspective as opposed to it being brought up as a 'woo hoo' type of thing with half the class rolling their eyes. it would also be different had the instructor, who is level 3, had offered to do reiki with me at some point, especially after i had told her that i didn't have much hands on experience with it. i think my frustration comes mainly from her putting me on the spot with it in front of the class rather than taking me aside and offering me the option to do it as my final. blah i will stop bitching now lol.

Do you think it would do any good to complain to adminstration that you signed up for a massage class and not a discussion on theoretical physics or theology?

nah and the term is over this week, anyways. i'm just letting out the rest of the steam that has built up over it. i do feel like such a trouble maker with this class though.

You know I'm related to Sir Issac :D

As for the topic of ID, if it is to be taught anywhere in school it should be in a philosophy class and not a scince class. If ID is to be taught in schools then so should all the theories on creation by every other religion. After all Christianity is a baby compared to most other religions, with the exception of Islam and wicca...
