nollie wakes me up at 8:30 this morning to ask me if i needed to go to work or school or should he let me sleep in. *grins* i adore this child. while i get to sleep in, going back to sleep wasn't an option

I had a class as an undergrad wherein the African American separatist feminist teacher explained that the root of Mammy was actually "mammary" because so many slaves were the wet nurses for the family. hummmm. (But the little toddlers who mixed up the mommy/mammy title because the slaves were the ones who raised them and showed them loving? How did those little kiddies know the nomenclature for breasts?)

Anyway, family holiday time can get hairy, can't it?

hey nice info on the term origins. that may be more plausable when the boys have their children, but i don't have the bonding with heather for that. it still doesn't seem right. or maybe it just seems like an 'old' person term and i'm not ready for the title LOL

it's hard to believe that you have only been around here for that short of time. what a strange trip this glorious life can be. *smooch* i'm so glad you are still here.

i hope this next year is filled with laughter, joy, and a ton of healing for you gorgeous woman. :)

Hello deary! This year has been very transitional for me as well, and there are still some extreme changes to come, I feel, but hey, they call me Coyote, and in honor of Him, I shall forever adapt to the ever changing environment.

I wanna work on organization too, but without taking it to the extreme as I have in the past.

One day I'll have some youngans to reawaken the gift giving spirit of the holidays. Blessings to you and yours:)
