When Crafters and Runners Collide...

Usually when I post about crafty stuff it involves a loom with a new weave, a knitting or crochet project, or more recently ceramics and other happenings at The Artist Co-op. Today I am here to show you one of my newest projects. They are my little "KT Men".

I'd rather call them the "Thank God for This Awesome Tape Which is Allowing Me to Run Through Plantar Fasciitis, a Healing PTT Tear, and a Old Angry Knee. It Needs to Stick to Me for at Least Thirty Minutes Before I Can Run so This is What I Did With The Tape Backing While I Waited Men" but that name is a bit long even for me.

The way this tape works can best be explained by someone who has had much more education than I have. Go to the KT Tape site for more info.

Once KT Tape is applied you need to wait at least 30 minutes to allow the adhesive to fully adhere. I usually apply it on the night before my long runs. It makes the mornings faster and ensures that the tape is fully stuck and ready for action. One day not too long ago I ended up forgetting to tape myself before bed so I had to apply it in the morning. The weather was nasty so I was planning on hitting the treadmill that sits patiently in our guest room. I applied my tape and sat on the guest bed to wait  the required 30 minutes when realized I was folding the tape backing into nice even quarters. This is an affliction I picked up after working 18 years with The Company. The next thing I knew I was reaching for the scissors and cutting out little men. This was the final product.

If you ever end up at our place for an overnight stay and manage to navigate around the treadmill without breaking a toe you might just see my little KT Men lined up and ready for action.

Thanks KT Tape!
