[ Meiling is dressed in sweatpants and a tank top, and is taking a break from jogging by lounging on the thick branch of a nearby tree. Her voice calls out from above. ] I think you'll break the pen that way!

Really? By nibbling on -- whoa! How did you get up there?

I just landed here. [ Like, a half hour ago.. but her hair is tied back in braids, so she doesn't stand out in the shade of the canopy as much as she might normally. ]

Landed...there?

Yep! I flew.

Flew? But you don't have wings...

[ A laugh. ] Nope. Never had 'em. But almost everyone back home flies, one way or another.

Wow, really? That's amazing!

Is it? [ News to her.

Meiling turns to let her legs dangle off of the edge, a hand bracing her against the trunk of the tree. ] I never thought it was anything special.

It's totally special! No one from home can fly without wings like that. And I've never seen anyone that had wings!

[notsogreatwall]

I think I'm just used to it. [ Meiling scratches her cheek. ] Should I come down?

S-sure! Oh my goodness...

[notsogreatwall]

Okay! [ And so Meiling kicks her legs out and pushes off of the trunk to land rather gracefully on the ground. ] That should make talking easier, right?

Oh, WOW! That's amazing!

[ Looking down at the pig-tailed girl, just smiling because, really, it's nothing special for her. ] What are you writing?
