I hear the northwest is having some pretty horrible weather. How are you guys holding up?

Little bits of flooding around Portland and some school closures. The downstairs neighbor's patio is under a few inches of water, but I've made it back and forth to school with no trouble for the last couple of days.

Water got past our doorsills, but only got a few (horizontal) inches past the doors. No damage done.

There's some pretty drastic flooding around (you need a boat if you're at 125th and Lake City Way) but despite being on a lake we are no worse off than having the lower yard flooded. However, see http://hallerlake.livejournal.com/29287.html for pix and more info on our poor neighbors...

Our 2nd floor apartment weathered it all just fine and we didn't even have any brownouts. I was soaked all day yesterday and walking around the U-District and Ballard was unpleasant due to urban flooding. But those areas weren't as bad as some others.

While I heard about some nasty flooding in Northgate, my place came through just fine--which is good, since I'm on the ground floor, and if any place was going to flood, it would be those units. :P My friend Heather (in Lynnwood) fared less well--her basement flooded.
