Finally
I'm finally posting in my journal again. Woohoo. Real Life has just been harshly kicking my ass the last few months. I've barely had time for school let alone this journal but school is now over for the semester and I have much to tell.
Well, since I last posted, we found out what was wrong with my mom. It turns out she had a stroke and a "fairly significant" one according to the doctors. Though I would thing any stroke would be significant but anyways. She is alright physically, no weakness on one side or any kind of paralysis. Unfortunately, she has lost the ability to speak properly. She knows what she wants to say and can understand us, sometimes we have to speak slowly, but what she says comes out jumbled because she can no longer find her words. She has to go to speech therapy now to relearn how to speak. The good news is that she is doing much better and her speaking is coming along well.
This lead us to school. School has totally sucked this semester. I missed so much of it when my mom was in the hospital. Then I missed more when she came home because I didn't want to leave her alone at first. When I did finally go, I disappointedly found out that my two English courses were not as good as I thought they would be. And if anyone has taken English you know that if the teacher isn't great, it is impossible to pay attention. I was almost 3 weeks late with one English paper and will be two weeks late with the one I am handing in by Friday (hopefully before). But there is good news wrapped up in the badness that is school. My Greek Archaeology class kicked ass. I did my power point presentation in that class on Thursday and I think it went well. If you have read any of my previous posts (although there aren't many) you would see that I have a highly debilitating fear of public speaking. I have found the way around this fear is to find a partner that loves to talk but hates research. I did most of the research and created most of the power point slides and he did most of the talking. So in the end, I only talked for like 4 minutes of the 25 minute presentation. I still have my finals, 11th, 12th and 16th and then I'm officially done for the semester and I'm sleeping for a week.
More good news, I finally have a user pic which was made by the great thefalloficarus. I have also discovered the wonder that is Mal/River fiction. So now I'm going to pimp my two favorite authors. They are luxuria_oceanus and gwenfrewi72. Seriously, anything written by these two is pure gold. So anytime you come across something of theirs, read it. You won't be disappointed.
While I'm pimping, I think I'll add my new favorite HP author wickedswanz. She writes amazing Hermione/Remus/Sirius fiction. Her newest fic "Hermione's Final Year" is fantastic and I highly recommend that you read it. She is also writing a story with another of my new favorite authors pinkwands aka MistressMalfoy. The fic is called "The Virgin of Hogwarts". And again, I highly recommend you read it.
Alright, I'm done being a pimp for today. I think that I have covered everything and I'm really going to try to be better at posting here.
