My family has a cabin in Point Roberts, Washington which is about 45 minutes from where I live in New Westminster BC, Canada.  Since Point Roberts is in the US, they go all out for the 4th of July.  This year they are having a parade and I just found out that the Grand Marshall will be David Hewlett (he plays Dr. Rodney MaKay on Stargate: Atlantis) ( Read more... )

It is far too hot here. WTF is with this heat? It's June. I can see a heat wave in July or August. But June? It's not even freakin' summer yet! *whines about the heat*

I know where Point Roberts is, although I've never been there. But the company I work for has a clinic in Ladner and I used to work there and I'd get people come over to see the doctor (because even though they had to pay, it was still cheaper). Is it a nice town?

Are you taking any classes this summer?

I know, it is way too freaking hot. It is just uncalled for *grins*

Point Roberts is very nice. Since it is part of the US but surrounded by Canada on all three sides, it is still underdeveloped. It is like a really small town. No traffic lights, only one grocery store, no fast food. It's nice, very relaxing, and has two beaches.

Yeah, I'm taking two history classes but it's not so bad. I have two very cool profs (finally) and only go 3 days a week and only for a couple of hours. Though convocation is this week so it kinda sucks right now with all the noise and the no parking.

How about you, any classes?

I do like that I get to spend the day in an air-conditioned building. Although the AC at my work isn't perfect and the front where I work tends to be warmer than the back. But it bets no AC at home.

Sounds very quaint.

That doesn't sound too bad. As for me, I'm not taking any classes. It's not just laziness. I don't need the credits and if I get more credits, I'll end up with too many credits and the open undergraduate scholarship will only pay up to a 144 credits for honour students. So I can't take any more courses although I might have taken one otherwise.
