Since when Do I get a 'C' on an english paper?

what has happened to the intelligent Lindsay? Did I leave her in Costa Rica?

And while we're on the subject- when did it become ok for me to not do well on a history test? I barely prepared for this exam- and I bet my grade will reflect it.

I'm disappionted in me.

I remember my first C on an English paper. It was Chaucer, senior year. I was devestated. I deserved it, granted, but this was the first time a teacher had ever really challenged my intelligence. I had a great deal of respect for him, so i worked my ass off and made an A on the final and a B overall in the class--but his note on the final was that it was the best final paper he had ever looked at. That made me proud.
