((Test run for Ace. If it works out well, this will definitely form part of their canon. If not, well, you know what they say, practice makes perfect. ♥))She'd known that Renard's concept of an "artist's street" wasn't new. When he'd set up one in Paris, he'd told her that it wasn't the first, and that there were a couple of already-established ( Read more... )

He adjusted his sunglasses slightly as he stepped into the bar. There was a definite advantage to them; they weren't as cumbersome as a hood, and they hid his eyes and broke up the shape of his face. His shaggy black hair was pulled back in a ponytail, something none of the others his age in the area were in the habit of doing in regular life.

Pops grinned. He'd taken quite a liking to the boy, and he didn't bother hiding it. In fact, he'd dropped what he'd been doing (not that it was important, since there really weren't a lot of customers yet) and went over to entertain him, handing over a glass of his favorite drink.

Ace, who was only a few seats away, was oblivious to whatever they were discussing. But it was true; her attendance had been erratic considering the adjustments she'd had to make to all the other aspects of her life, so she hadn't met everyone in the club yet.

Pops continued to say, "And she ain't called Ace for nothin'. I'd say she's the best gal who's ever hit the street to date... but I dun want the girls gettin' angry at me."

Solomon chuckled, sipping his drink. "Thanks, pops." Finally. He'd been trying to catch her for a couple of weeks now, but they never seemed to be in at the same time.

He wandered over to her, leaning on the back of the seat next to her. "Well, hello, there."

She turned to look at him with interest; she'd never seen him around before. She'd lifted her head a little, but her hood still cast shadows over her eyes. "Hey," she greeted back, smiling. "Don't think we've met."
