The citizens of Texas apparently feel so strongly about lettin' the queers marry that they felt it justified an amendment to our state's constitution to prohibit anything even resembling gay marriage. OK, so let's think about this rationally. You think you won't be settling down in Texas since this bunch of square miles designated "Texas" passed this amendment. But why take that rather arbitrary boundary?

First of all, you're not gay, so the amendment doesn't affect you directly. So your only sentiment for not settling down in Texas is to make a point. In that case, why don't you just stay in Travis? Travis voted 60:40 _against_ the amendment. Or why don't you ditch the US completely and move to the Netherlands, where abortion, gay marriage, and assisted suicide for the mentally ill are all legal.

You're making an emotional sentimental judgement on an arbitrary boundary. Just stay in Travis, you can easily justify that!

The principle of the matter is sometimes more important than that matter not affecting you.
