yeah, but the fact that we're still reading articles about people getting harassed over red hair or dark skin means that this is still a problem, and we need to solve it.

This country needs to focus on equal treatment. And teaching our children that race isn't an issue. That whole tree story is absolutely absurd, and it saddens me that people even think this way anymore. It saddens me that if I'm out in the mall, I can see an interracial couple getting looks from so many people. Why? They're two people in love. There is nothing there to look at. I just think so many people are rude and so...focused on the wrong things.
This country is a fascinating melting pot, and so many people just turn their noses at other cultures instead of embracing from them, learning their traditions, and maybe deciding they like one or two and would like to add those traditions into their lives.
