I'm tired of reading lies in the news. Propaganda, etc. I see this all the time in Internet "security" reports and so forth, so naturally I extrapolate this to other areas and simply don't trust anything I read

Do you mean something like the way neowin.net have news reports and random people comment on it? (kinda like live journal). You may already know of neowin and probably mean something completely different...

Yes, I thought of that, but there's a couple of constraints. Firstly, I'd like it to look good, rather than like a bog standard wiki, and secondly I'd like to impose fairly restrictive controls on who can do what...
