Yesterday, my husband Perry and I went to the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers' Chorus in Boardman Park.  The place was packed (but considering there were fireworks after, it makes sense).  Lots of people, lots of noise, but a good concert all in all ( Read more... )

I know it has been a while since I have posted. I can mostly say that finally I have graduated with my Master's Degree in Music Performance! The first few days after the surgery, I was very sore. It felt as if I had a fifty pound weight attached to my waist, so when I stood up, I wasn't standing fully straight. Perry said my surgery only took about 30 - 45 minutes total. He went in, the hernia was about the size of his thumbnail, he pushed it back in and sewed up the surrounding area. No mesh, no difficult, messy work, no problem. Wish I could say the same for the recovery area ( Read more... )

My surgery was one week ago today. When they gave me directions on where to park and everything, she mentioned, "if there's fog. good luck finding the low level blue lights." So what was there that morning? Yup VERY DENSE FOG! yay ( Read more... )

For a couple of days before the surgery, they tried to reach me about the pre-admission stuff (not knowing that Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are my REALLY busy days, going from 7:30 in the morning until sometimes 10:30 or 11 at night, but I need to call them back between the hours of 9 and 4. yeah, right ( Read more... )

To continue from the past post - after my doctor had affirmed that it was a hernia, several weeks later (it takes that long to get in to a specialist, you know) I went to the surgeon that had worked on my doctor's wife's and son's hernias.
