Sorry for not updating this much... things are looking very bad here. I can't find a job. I don't know where to look, which doesn't help, and the temp agencies are being notoriously slow of late. So I'm completely broke, and that is my primary concern at the moment

I don't have a car -- don't those jobs tend to require a car?

Anyway, I wouldn't know where to begin -- I never studied for any of those tests, with the exception of the GRE subject test in English. And somehow I doubt the demand for tutoring the GRE subject test in English is not enough to support me.

Oh, but of course I'm being silly -- not all their jobs are in the middle of nowhere, presumably. And the worst that can happen is that I'll try it, be bad at it, and stop. No, I suppose I'll apply -- though I'm not sure it'll happen in time to do much good anyway.

also I have the lasting faith that if someone really needed a job, they could always go to an industrial part of town, plead their case to some foreman, and find themselves employed.

I don't know about what is going on in Industrial Parts of Town -- I am not equipped, mentally or physically, to work anywhere that is not an office. What, do you want me to get my arm mangled in an industrial... stuff... press? They do that, you know -- press things. Not usually arms, I think, but I'm very accident-prone. Anyway, the environment would probably send me into an unavoidable depression of some sort.
