i know how it is, i've been there and felt similar feelings before. just take care of yourself and try not to get too burnt out.
as for needing some time apart, i think that is very healthy and normal and i'm sure your partnet will understand. you just have to tell him. i find that spending a day or two apart makes my relationship grow stronger because, as the saying goes, "absense makes the heart grow fonder."
