OMG, this wedding stuff is going to kill me dead. I'm trying to find a dress. A dress that doesn't cost much money, need alterations, and oh yeah... FITS. Good grief. You'd think my body was some freak of nature or something. I've been looking at vintage dresses and there are some gorgeous dresses but they're all just a little too small. 34-24 bust ( Read more... )

Heh - good thing you're keeping it as simple as you did! I can see how all the tea-length ones seem to awesome and maybe wear-able again someday to give up, and I'm impressed by your new knowledge!

I hope you find something that fits beautifully and suits you to a T!

It's crazy. This is just one of many reasons why I never wanted a "real" wedding. Good grief. I think part of the problem with tea-length is also that there aren't as many of them made, so there are fewer to sell. *sigh*

Yeah, tea-length isn't as common, you're right. But then most brides also aren't skiing in their dresses, either, so :D. Hopefully something perfect will come along that isn't too much of a hassle, and you'll have as real a wedding as you'd like, with more fun than most of them :).

If I had something that would fit you I'd ship it to you, but I'm short and you're tall and no where do those two things meet. Good luck finding something.

Short isn't necessarily bad, because I need it to be above my skis when I bend my knees to actually ski. But my boobs are an issue too.

Liking vintage stuff and being not-tiny in any proportion are not very compatible, it can be really frustrating! I hope you can find something that you like and that works for you. And congratulations!

It is so hard. I'm not even big, I'm just not tiny.

It's like anything vintage was made under the assumption that women either had tiny breasts or liked having their slightly larger breasts crushed flat! I try on vintage stuff all the time and I've never found anything that fit right in the breast department, and I'm only moderately sized myself (38D or 36DD, depending on the brand. And there's another question, why doesn't 38 mean *38* and not some random number nearby?)
