My camera is all but dead. Of late, but particularly last night at the Glow, it needed to be rebooted for format errors about every third shot. There were many folks with cell phone cameras there that had better light gathering capabilities than I did. I'm now officially looking for a Deal™ on a Nikon DSLR with interchangeable lenses. Bought Herself a Nikon D3000 from B&H photo shortly before Christmas as her gift. Fairly good price on the kit lens & camera. Kit lens is an OK lens, there are better. One of the advantages in getting a Nikon is any of their lens will mount on the camera. They've not changed the mount since first introducing interchangeable lenses.

Check e-Bay as well, obviously.

I use a D70s currently shooting DSLR, and am very happy with it. Biggest reason Herself didn't use it more is that it doesn't fit her hand well. The D3000 is a smaller overall body. Still usable with my larger hands, the D70s is more comfortable.

I'm looking at a D5000 with kit lens plus telephoto package. So far, Circuit City seems to be the best deal
