if your extended family was just sort of  figureheads all the time, but you have a few memories of them, and they WEREN'T coming to your wedding  two years after your parents got divorced, would you accept the money they sent

what kind of extended family?
i don't know that sending money back would help anything. i might write them thankyou notes that say how sad it makes you that they missed such a significant and fun time...
