If you take a look at my interest list, you'll see both 'lolicon' and 'shotacon' appear. Contrary to what that would seem to suggest, the very idea of touching (or being touched by) one of those snot-nosed walking germ factories otherwise known as a child is absolutely abhorrent to me. Just thinking about it makes me want to go scrub the top layer of my skin off. That being the case, why would I find lolicon or shotacon artwork appealing?
My interest is such artwork is a reflection of my interest in dolls/robots, and has nothing to do with creatures of flesh and blood. If such a thing existed, I would love to have a doll-like robot... intelligent, small, synthetic perfection. While that sort of companion would be welcomed in my home with open arms, the thought of an actual child setting foot across the threshold makes me want to nail all my doors and windows shut.
When I look at lolicon and shotacon artwork, it is always through a filter of 'these are synthetic beings of artificial intelligence and advanced technology'. Perfect living dolls, sanitized and programmable, filled with wires and circuitry. If only such a thing actually existed. In the meanwhile, I'll content myself with an ever-growing collection of dolls and robots.
