Minor upset

Oh man. The place was a madhouse when I went into work yesterday. Er, more of a madhouse, anyways. Apparently there was some sort of break-in the other night, and a doctor who was there late said she was attacked by this big flying creature. I cleaned the slime on the walls that proves it-- and let me tell you, that stuff was not fun to clean off ( Read more... )

Oh wow, I've never read of people breaking in and that description could fit a number of patients with mutangen factors. What kind of big flying thing, did she say?

I don't know, I didn't talk to her. I only got the story from the orderlies who sent me to clean it up. Mitch keeps saying it was that mutant bat thing, but nobody knows. Or if they do, they're not telling us.

Nice to see our new head of security is doing such a wonderful job. Those straightjackets have really helped.

You think it was someone trying to break in and save one of their comrades?

I think I had to work very hard and quickly to stop Bolton from being called, after an operation that never should have happened took place. Your pride and refusal to take my help is getting other people hurt, Ms. Marquez.

Nobody was hurt and it wouldn't have had to happen if Langstrom just stayed put like he was suppose to. As for accepting your help it's not a matter of pride, it's a matter of trust.

Oh, Ms. Mei? No, hey, yeah, of course I'm nice to her. She's a good woman.

She told me how you've been sticking up for her. That's really cool of you. Maybe you and I just got off on the wrong foot, huh?

Something...broke in? Oh...well that's a bit terrifying...Are you sure it wasn't someone in a costume or something...that seems to happen a lot in this town.

Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I'm pretty sure. Unless the person in a costume had a big slime gun. ...Which I guess is possible. You'd have to ask Dr. Peterson, she's the one who said she was attacked.

I haven't eaten that well since I left home!

Could be. I suppose we should be on guard then...never know when it might come back or something...

Well, I'm just glad I was able to give you something that reminded you of home. I know it's hard being away from your family like that.

Luckily I don't think you and I have to worry about it. That's security's thing.

Yeah, but it was rougher at first than it is now. I still go home to visit them for the holidays usually, and I make sure to keep in touch through email and phone.
