I know what you mean about watching a daughter's FB: I learn more from that about her everyday life than from a telephone call. I suppose she thinks that I'm not interested in the day-to-day stuff and reserves the important stuff for phone calls. Children!
Actually my daughter and I have quite a good communication, I'm just keeping an eye to see that she's safe. There are a lot of true stories about how teenagers can be hurt by these online communications, and even if I know she's a smart girl, she's still only 15.
I see. My daughter is 24 and lives away from home. She's been in York for the last six years and although we see each other every couple of months, we tend to use the phone or text to keep in touch.
Fifteen is that in between time of not being a child any more but not being an adult either. It's a lovely time when the little girl realises that mum can be a friend as well :)
