[For Chris] Magic!

Although he could technically start work again at any time, Lennox hadn't bothered just yet. It was nice to have a couple days off now that he was feeling back to normal and he figured maybe he'd take just one more week off. Just one more, it wouldn't kill anyone. Besides, with Chris's back the way it was, he figured he shouldn't be doing any ( Read more... )

In Chris's dream, there was water and a pine tree and something about an oversized bong that suddenly started yelling his name in Lennox's voice. He stared at in confusion for a long moment, great billowing clouds of smoke coming out the end as the shouts grew louder.

And then, in an instant they were gone as conciousness reached him and his eyes blinked open.

One smooth brush of his hand against the mattress told him that Lennox wasn't beside him and he rolled onto his side with a groan, his back made stiff from sleep as he tried to figure out where the shouts were coming from.

"Jim?" he asked groggily and tried to make his way out of the bed.

"Chris, I turned the fucking dog into a person!" Lennox shouted, his eyes wide as he continued to stare at the woman who used to be Hal. Or maybe was still Hal. "Jesus Christ..."

He couldn't say anything else, though. All he could do was stare at the dog, his eyes wide, shocked by what he'd done. Or maybe not what he'd done, but what the weird wand thing had done. Or maybe it was just the island.

At the sound of Chris's voice, the woman who used to be Hal turned toward him, smiling, her tongue lolling out the side of her mouth.

"You did what?" Chris asked, the last images from his dream vanishing into the ether as his feet hit the ground of their hut. Or maybe he was still dreaming because he doubted he'd heard that right.

Grumbling at the ground a moment, he found a pair of boxers -- Lennox's actually, but they'd work for now -- and stepped into them, the waistband snapping against his skin before he stumbled out into the sunlight.

It was brighter than he'd expected and he lifted a hand to shield himself from the sun as he squinted into the distance. "What're you talking about?"

When Chris stepped out of the hut, the woman that used to be Hal barked again and then shuffled awkwardly toward him, still looking confused at the fact that she had limbs and hands and feet rather than paws.

"I turned Hal into a person," Lennox repeated in a monotone, staring blankly at the dog turned person as she ran over toward Chris. "This... I had this thing. This wand and I pointed it at her and said the words from, y'know, The Evil Dead? And she turned into... that."

That was a woman who was on her back, trying to wag her non-existent tail.
