[For Chris]

Although Lennox didn't have much of a problem with the new climate, he had to admit that the intense humidity made it a little more difficult to do a lot of physical work without feeling like he was ready to pass out. It was just too hot some days and although he still went to work, he found excuses more and more often to go home a little earlier ( Read more... )

"Hey," Chris panted, glancing up at Lennox as he ran through the door, kicking it closed behind him since his hands were otherwise full.

The bucket was just one he'd found in the storage closet in the basement of the Compound. After cleaning it out, he'd wandered up to the kitchen and filled it half full of ice and then, knowing that the heat and humidity would make it melt pretty quickly, he'd all but sprinted down to the hut.

And, of course, he was right. Quite a bit of the ice had melted, but there was a good few handfuls left, floating in a puddle of cool water as Chris wandered into the bedroom.

"Brought you something," he said, still panting, sweat dripping off the sides of his face, making his shirt stick to him.

"Yeah?" Lennox asked, managing to get himself up onto his elbows as he balled up his socks and tossed them into the corner, trying to see what Chris had in the bucket. Unless it was ice cream or something, he wasn't so sure it was going to be something he wanted.

Which wasn't to say he wouldn't want any gift Chris had to give him, but right now Lennox's only desire was to be cool and that seemed next to impossible this day.

"What is it?" he asked, resisting the urge to see rude as he flopped back down on the bed again. It was just so hot.

Quirking a grin, Chris watched Lennox flop onto his back again and he gave him a nod.

"Close your eyes," he ordered, voice quietly playful as he wandered over to the side of the bed, setting the bucket down on the floor and kicking his shoes off.

Briefly, Lennox arched a brow, then plucked at the uncomfortable and sticky material of his t-shirt before he closed his eyes willingly. "If it's another puppy, Hal's gonna be jealous," he warned, because the last time Chris had told him to close his eyes, there was a dog involved.

Or maybe he'd just been asleep then, he couldn't really remember. In island time, it had been ages ago.
