"Any plans for today?" he asked, tipping his chin up so he could look at Karen. "Or can I interest you in a strictly non-sexual romp in the snow with me and a couple of dogs?"

Actually, there weren't really any options when puppies were involved. Even Utica was still in that cute stage where Karen could forgive her peeing on Nick's shoes. "Yeah, why not. I've got some time to kill before dinner."
She was already half dressed anyway; staying in the hut alone wasn't much fun. "How's King doing?"

"He's doing okay. Me and Chris are starting to get him trained and he seems to be doing pretty good. He mostly pees outside now, which is awesome, 'cause I don't want him peeing on me like his mom did once," he recalled, grinning.
