I received my check from CHASE today, as well as an estimation as to what my monthly payments will be and how much I will have to pay back. Because I got shafted on the interest rate, it's not pretty. For a $40,000 loan, I will, In the long run, have to pay over $147k in the form of nearly 299 $500 installments. That's until 2035. it almost sounds like the payments might worth it, especially is you live somewhat sparingly and send back as much as you can at the end...

and who knows, maybe you'll make it big and can pay them off sooner

I think i'm just going to go with the flow of the universe with this. If I get an apartment, then i'll keep the check. If not, i'll send it back. It's still looming on me though, no matter how much I try to think it through.
