For those that haven't heard the news, the author Robert Jordan has passed away on 16 September 2007 from cardiac amyloidisis. This is a sad day for modern fantasy writers. Robert Jordan was best know for his "Wheel of Time" series, an ambitious series that started in 1990 and now 12 books later, will probably never be completed.

Aw. I hadn't heard that. I never did get into his series but I know he was well loved. It is a sad occasion.
