As for taxes (AFAIK) you have to find out to which taxes you are subject, since you are employed by (I guess) the US Army. So you may not be subject to income tax. You are however subject to city and sewer taxes (these taxes depend on every city/town though). As soon as your official address is at your current house, you will start getting those taxes in the mail and then you pay them within the time period noted
