Let's not forget Moore and Gibbons were revamping Charlton characters for their series, and the Comedian was based in part upon the Peacemaker. If your theory's correct, Felicity, that would make Cable a second-generation Xerox.

Well, Nathan Summers first appeared in 1986, the same year Watchmen made its debut, but the adult version (as Cable) waited until 1990. Arguable.

Good point! And it isnt necessary for Liefeld to have read the Charlton comic in question when designing Cable.
