pronunciation
today someone used the word ennui but pronouced it AHN-WEE. when i was taught this word in junior high, i VIVIDLY remember the teacher pronoucing it like it is spelled EN-YOU-EYE, accent on the first syllable. i heard other teachers use it in high school, and one particularly respected professor in college as well. well, i corrected the guy, using ( Read more... ) -

When is it appropriate to give someone your opinion? Though I don't always follow it, I like the idea of giving someone your opinion only when it's solicited or it's something they want to hear.
