It was beginning to grate on Asher in ways he hadn't experienced in years. The constant meetings, the hell that was the New York kiss. It was higbrow parties and operas and... And a bunch of young vampires playing at being elders. The only true elders in the group were the Master herself.

And Asher.

But he was becoming anxious, angry and it was showing in his every mannerism. Like now as he tried to get his tie just right. Usually it was second nature for him but this evening he'd finally become so upset that he finally did the only thing he could think of. He shredded it in his hands, snarling as he did.

"Jason?' Calling out, but his tones sharp, demanding. "Do I have another tie?"

He doesn't make a sound, just slips from the window sill and pads silently across the loft. In the expansive closet, he picks up a tie he knows will match Asher's outfit.

He doesn't say a word when he walks up behind Asher, just stops beside him and holds out the tie. Waiting.

His fingers don't close over the tie but over Jason's hand. Using that grip to pull him close, his lips finding his lover's without hesitation.

It barely lasts though, withdrawing to put on the tie.

"Will you forgive me once more, my little one?"

"Of course." Because he would. He would forgive Asher and spend the night curled up on the couch or bed. Waiting for his lover to come home before finally falling asleep alone.

"Careful with this one, you'll be late if you don't hurry." Smiling softly, he slips around Asher and starts for the other room. That same smile disappears as soon as he's sure that Asher can't see him.
