I have been entirely aware that I am living in the Matrix. Really. But it doesn't bother me even slightly.

There is an old corollary to Murphy's Law called the Peter Principle: in the working world, you get promoted to the level of your incompetence. Nature's creation of high-IQ folks describes this idea nicely in your way of thinking about it.

If you really believed this, why wouldn't you lobotimize yourself?

1) what about the folks who don't want kids and don't fear death?

2) truth is something only really curious/dedicated people seek out because most people are, as you say, just fine with their rose colored glasses. in seeking the truth I have found the most happiness just existing in the moment, which is possible for us "higher iq" people as you say, it just takes the ability to let go of analysis of every single moment, and the obsession with the future or the past.

my biases are buddhism and experience with energy work, but I'm a big fan of logic too. logic and buddhism complement each other, in fact.
