Well, the context was a discussion about self-confidence and self-esteem, and how the lack of both has passed like an inheritance from woman to woman in our family. My grandmother's normally not one to express quite such emotional wishes. In visits past, she's stuck to a patented "you need a husband" and "make money" one-two, so I took her statement as her largest, most-encompassing hope for me, and yes life-long.
