Yesterday a co-worker told me about his ride to work, where he met another cyclist who took a slightly different route (my co-worker didn't like to stop for lights) but repeatedly met each other where the routes converged, all the way from Skyline to Foothill to Middlefield to Maude. His excitement at meeting someone who lives near where he does,
