Update on fighting Trojans

I lost the battle, but am winning the war.
23:08:10 hrs to do a military level wipe on my two 80gig hard drives.
Now starting the same on ldyalia 's.

Next steps are:
installing an operating system
installing several anti virus/malware and firewall systems.
updating OS
installing custom tweaks to computer
installing a ton of software

Was a military wipe necessary? Unless I'm selling the hard drive, I don't bother with that frequently : )

Part of it was me wanting to be thorough (if I am going to wipe out this trojan, why not go all the way?), and part of it was me not being familiar with what exactly the Wizard's CD of tricks held.
