How much does it make me laugh that your selected most hated book is my boyfriend's most hated book and your runner-up is mine? Oh, Scarlet Letter. My copy's still sitting unread on my bookshelf, but from what I've seen of my friends' opinions', it's something of a love-it-or-hate-it deal. On the upside, the movie version is very helpful for when I need clips set in 1600s America.
